Welcome. The MacNeal Family Medicine Residency Program was one of the first family medicine programs in the country and the first in Illinois. We have continued a progressive tradition in all aspects of our curriculum. Our program is at the forefront of contemporary family medicine offering diverse academic and clinical opportunities and building on the innovative ideas of our residents. We offer fellowships in Sports Medicine, Women's Health, Faculty Development and Family Systems. Resident input is encouraged in our program. We strive for residents well-being by providing an active but reasonable schedule, a unique universal call coverage system, regular faculty and resident conferences, and a resident retreat. The training takes place at MacNeal Hospital, a fully-accredited community teaching hospital. Our graduate medical education programs are affiliated with the University of Chicago. Serving the west side of Chicago and suburbs, MacNeals advances include a free-standing cancer center, a cardiac catheterization lab, an MRI center, and a PET scanner. Medical students may be interested in our clerkships. We offer hands-on exposure to the rewards of family medicine and sports medicine through clerkships that feature an established curriculum that ensures your participation and involvement in our Program. |
