Faculty Development Fellowship

Director: Ed Foley, M.D.

Our Faculty Development Fellowship seeks individuals committed to an academic career in family medicine education, especially in the community-based setting. The fellowship curriculum focuses on developing the clinical, teaching, administrative, and research skills necessary to succeed as a residency faculty member. This is achieved through readings, regularly scheduled seminars, small group discussions, and supervised settings to practice skills. Most importantly, there is the flexibility for the fellow to further enhance clinical interests of theirs.

In addition to working with the residency faculty, many of whom are fellowship trained, you will have the opportunity to interact with our fellows in Sports Medicine, Women's Health, and Family Systems.

We are affiliated with the Department of Community and Family Medicine at the University of Chicago which provides additional resources for the fellowship especially in the area of research.

There is an optional two-year fellowship with a M.P.H. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health for those interested in an advanced degree in that area.

The deadline for applying to the fellowship is December 15th. We do not sponsor J-1 visas.
